Qualified Independent/Freelance Surveyor
Required documents:

Proof of professional qualification in area of expertise (i.e., relevant higher education qualification
A minimum of two recent survey reports (at least two reports are required evidence of competency
Copy of Professional Indemnity Insurance.
Copy of Professional CV detailing minimum of 5 year’s relevant work experience & qualifications.

B. Experienced
Those entering through the experienced route will be asked to attend a zoom meeting to verify experience and knowledge with 2 committee members responsible for membership. These take place once each month and there is an additional fee.

C. Student
Is free, for those not trading and can demonstrate they are on approved training course or apprenticed with a member organisation.

Qualifications:
Snagging Inspectors: Must possess a minimum qualification in building surveying, construction or similar or have 5 years minimum relevant experience, ideally with evidence of ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
Experience:
Snagging Inspectors: Minimum of 2-year experience in snagging inspections.
Those undertaking the NHQB PCI should have a thorough understanding of its key elements.
Professional Indemnity Insurance:
All members must hold adequate professional indemnity insurance to protect themselves and clients.
Code of Conduct:
Members must adhere to a strict code of conduct outlining ethical practices, impartiality, and client confidentiality.
Members should only operate in their areas of competency.
Members should not bring the organisation into disrepute.
The Members should have a code of conduct which should address conflicts of interest, record keeping, payment taking, refund practices and professional behaviour.
Make clear the scope of the type of inspection they will be undertaking.
Members should advise clients which type of inspection best suits their needs.

Members should have a clear process for handling complaints.

Competence: Maintain professional competence through ongoing CPD and stay up to date with industry standards.
